Peter Cryan

Peter Cryan is an Executive industry leader at Inspire Brands, Inc. He has been in the restaurant industry since he was 15 years old, first starting as a dishwasher. While in school he climbed the ranks from crew to management and further into multi-unit leadership positions. Peter has operations in his blood spending most of his career turning around struggling restaurants. The last 10 years Peter has put his innovative and problem-solving skills he learned as an operator into practice to innovate with kitchen Equipment. Equipment that improves operations, efficiencies, reduces operating costs and improves product quality and food safety. Last year he was promoted from Sr. Director of Arby’s Equipment Innovation to leading equipment innovation for all the brands that fall under the Inspire Brands portfolio. Brands that include Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Baskin-Robins, Dunkin, Jimmy John’s, Rusty Taco and Sonic.

Some of Peter’s most recent accomplishments have been developing an Arby’s Smart Kitchen that has led to reducing labor, improving food safety, improving operating efficiencies and reducing energy consumption by more than 30% in Corp owed restaurants. Peter has also revamped Arby’s custom cooking and holding platforms furthering Ops efficiencies, labor savings and energy while also improving product quality and hot serving temperatures. Peter and his team are currently focused on equipment optimization that can further reduce labor and gain operational thru-put and efficiencies across the portfolio of restaurants for Inspire. Peter and his team have achieved numerous awards for innovation from both Inspire leadership and the industry including Food Equipment Reports “Management Excellence Award” in 2018 and FER’s 2020 Industry Service Award.

Peter attributes his professional success first to his faith and supportive family, excellent leaders he has been exposed to, his dynamic and talented team, industry best peers and cross functional teams. He believes in challenging the status quo and finding better ways of doing things, at Inspire Brands, this is called being a Maverick. Peter is married to his high school sweetheart of 28 years, is a proud father of 7 girls, 3 grandsons and lives in Atlanta, Ga. He enjoys boating with his family and friends, the occasional Harley ride in unique places, and enjoys a nice cigar and bourbon with friends and colleagues.
