John Zurovchak is a seasoned training executive specializing in corporate training, curriculum development, adult learning, and learning management system administration.  Over the past 10+ years, he has provided subject matter expertise in program management, eLearning, and operations training.  As a strong leader, John effectively leverages his experience to optimize processes and improve programs.  He also has a proven track record of developing, training, and mentoring high-performance team members.

John joined Micro Electronics in 2006 as an Instructional Designer.  In this role, he spearheaded curriculum design, training, and leadership development.  John developed over 10 courses and trained over 140 leaders across operations, logistics, finance, purchasing, sales, service, and IT functions.  He also served as the Leadership Development Program Coordinator.

In 2012, John joined Charley’s Philly Steaks as the Director of Training and Development.  In this role, he selected and implemented a new learning management system and launched text communication and QR code technology to drive engagement.  John also created content and training videos for training and certification programs.  In 2013, John was promoted to Senior Director of Operations where he managed training for over 850 locations.  John also directed all facets of new store openings, including new hire training, employee development, and process implementation.

In 2014, John was recruited to join Wendy’s as the Director of Operations Training where he spearheaded all training for over 5,700 locations across the US and Canada.  He achieved over 8M course completions, doubled manager participation, and increased franchise participation.  He also realized over $800K in annual cost savings by redesigning the LMS support page, renegotiating the LMS contract, and optimizing product training kits.  Additionally, John achieved over 95% certification in food safety, ethics, and information security programs and over 90% of team members received “exceeds expectation” performance ratings.

In 2017, John joined Whataburger as the Director of Restaurant Learning and Development, where he spearheaded curriculum development, learning program management, training, and testing.  John was instrumental in creating the Restaurant Career Development Path (RCDP), a formal development framework to support a “build vs buy” talent development strategy across the restaurant system.  In December 2019, John was awarded the 2019 Home Office Support System Director of the Year.

In 2020, John was recruited by Restaurant Brands International (RBI) as Head of Global Training overseeing all restaurant training for more than 25,000 Burger King and Popeye’s restaurants across the globe.  Following an internal reorganization and the disbanding of the entire Global Operations Team in March 2021, John was asked to lead the 7000+ Burger King US & Canada region including operations training, field training and field support training.

John holds a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts in Political Science from Ohio State University as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame.  John has over 20 years of experience teaching online courses spanning Success Factors, Cultural Diversity, American Politics, International Relations, and Political Psychology.
